Introduction
Parvum Systems produces some of the prettiest computer cases on the market. While this is just a subjective personal opinion, I believe I share this view with many others around the world. A carefully planned and crafted hard-line water-cooling build can come alive in one of their acrylic cases. By customizing the colors of the acrylic panels, buyers may create a case design that becomes their own and that perfectly matches the color scheme of their build.
I was completely in love, and decided to order one for a build I was planning at the time. I ordered an S2.5 mATX case in black and white acrylic and was really excited as I "specced" out the rest of the components which I ordered shortly after. This order was placed in January 2019.
Then the problems started.
Delays Upon Delays
Parvum currently states on their website that customers should expect a 5 to 30 day delay between placing an order and shipping for the S2.5 case. This makes sense as the acrylic panels are cut to specification after ordering and thus, some construction time is to be expected. I remember a similar timeframe being quoted back when I ordered.
30 days came and went.
I got in contact through email, asking for an update. The response I got the same day assured me that my order was almost ready and that I would have tracking within the next week.
Another 2 weeks passed without a sound. At this point, a fairly one-sided conversation started that unraveled over the next couple of months. At this point, I was getting worried I would never actually receive anything. And I was not the only one having issues at the time.
Long story short, after much back and forth I finally received a package in the beginning of May.
I thought the issues would end there. After all, I had received the case I ordered. Even if it was after 4 months. After opening the box however, I realized that this would not be the end of this saga.
I had received the cut acrylic panels, but none of the additional hardware required to assemble the case was present in the package. I missed the metallic cubes, the screws, motherboard standoffs, power button, and front USB ports.
I assumed there had to have been a mistake and reached out once again. This time, there was complete radio silence from Parvum. I tried again a few times over the next couple of months, but I never heard back. I gave up after a while, and the case panels have been sitting around collecting dust since then. I had been ghosted.
Until now.
I watched some video on YouTube that featured one of Parvum's cases a couple of months ago which made me remember my old case. The thing had completely fallen out of my mind. I found myself curious to know whether Parvum as a company was still around and thus browsed to their website for the first time in many years. To my surprise, the website had been updated visually since my last visit. I thus tried my luck and reached out again.
This time they answered, and quickly. I explained my issues, and they were very happy to help. After figuring out which version of the S2.5 case I had, they sent all the required hardware. It took almost a month to arrive, but that was mostly due to Swedish customs being slow to clear it.
Conclusion to a Long Story
I now have all the components to assemble the case. 4 and a half years after ordering.
It was satisfying watching it all finally come together. I no longer have a build planned for it as I did previously, but I now know in which case my next gaming system will be put into.
This has restored my faith in Parvum Systems. I know many others have had issues too, but I felt it was important to share the renewed willingness to fix the issues they have caused in the past. I hope Parvum cases may once again be enclosing awesome computers for many years to come!
